HSE Advice on Minding Your Mental Health

During challenging times, it’s more important than ever to look after your child’s well-being. To help parents to help their children, Outside the Box has produced a FREE activity journal (At Home with Weaving Well-being) to help children to enhance their mental well-being through a range of activities. It’s probably most suitable for children aged 8 to 12 years old but can certainly be adapted for younger or older children. It was released at the start of April as a response to the current crisis and will soon be distributed in other English speaking countries, starting in Australia next week.

You can download it and print it out for your child/children or, if you don’t have access to a printer, your child can get the activity idea from the screen and do it on a blank sheet of paper

The author of this journal Fiona Forman will appear on Ireland AM on Virgin Media 1 – this Saturday (April 11th) at 10.20 am. She will be discussing mental well-being issues including strategies to help children with anxiety during these confusing and frightening times. She will be using some of the activities that are in this Free journal. This is Fiona’s second time on Ireland AM in the last two months and she has been very well received in the Irish media and by the Irish public.
