Happy St. Patrick's Day 2026!

We are currently getting ready for our entry to the St. Patrick's Day Parade and it promises to be spectacular! Our theme this year is under wraps until the day itself but last year our theme was 'The Noble Birds of Laois'. We had kingfishers, owls , swans and blackbirds and even a druid who wielded his staff and magical words to enlist the help of the fairies and some music to awaken the birds at dawn. Thanks to the Parents' Association who led and supported and supported our pupils from beginning to end. Check out the video on the left - this year's recording coming soon...

Castlecuffe National School Admissions Information

Castlecuffe N.S. will begin accepting applications for junior infants and for our special class for September 2026 on 6th October 2025 in line with other primary schools in our diocese.

About Us

Castlecuffe National School was built as a two teacher school in 1953. It was extended to 3 classrooms in 2004 and in September 2020, 5th and 6th class moved into their newly built state - of -the-art classroom. In September 2025, we opened a special class for children with autism. We now have 6 teachers, including three special education teachers and 3.5 SNAs. The school has a vibrant Parent Association who work with the Board of Management to build effective partnership of home and school.

Flora and Fauna of the Sliabh Bloom Area

We had the pleasure of working with artist Mary Slevin, Mount Henry Art Studio, Killinard recently as part of the BLAST programme.

We thoroughly enjoyed the process and now have the final products, of which we are very proud, on display outside.
