As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, privacy, and data protection, the school has reviewed its practices regarding the publication of pupil photographs online as of June 2026.
Following this review, images of pupils will no longer be displayed on the school website.
While we recognise that photographs can help showcase school life and celebrate pupils’ achievements, we must also consider the increasing importance of protecting children’s privacy in an online environment. Once images are published on the internet, it can be difficult to control how they are accessed, shared, or used by others.
This decision has been made to:
· Enhance the privacy and safety of all pupils.
· Support compliance with data protection and safeguarding requirements.
· Reduce the risk of unauthorised downloading, sharing, or misuse of children’s images.
· Ensure a consistent approach to protecting pupils’ digital identities.
The school website will continue to provide information about school activities, achievements, events, and learning experiences through written updates and, where appropriate, photographs that do not identify or feature pupils.
We appreciate the understanding and support of our parents, guardians, and wider school community as we implement this measure in the best interests of all children in our care.

Castlecuffe N.S. will begin accepting applications for junior infants and for our special class for September 2027 on 23rd October 2026 in line with other primary schools in our diocese.

Castlecuffe National School was built as a two teacher school in 1953. It was extended to 3 classrooms in 2004 and in September 2020, 5th and 6th class moved into their newly built state - of -the-art classroom. In September 2025, we opened a special class for children with autism. We now have 6 teachers, including special education teachers and 3.5 SNAs. The school has a vibrant Parent Association who work with the Board of Management to build effective partnership of home and school.

We had the pleasure of working with artist Mary Slevin, Mount Henry Art Studio, Killinard recently as part of the BLAST programme.
We thoroughly enjoyed the process and now have the final products, of which we are very proud, on display outside.
